Intro to Beekeeping: From Hive to Honey
Step into the fascinating world of beekeeping and discover the buzz behind these incredible creatures! In this hands-on, 3-hour workshop, you'll dive into the essentials of setting up and maintaining a beehive. Learn from seasoned beekeeper Allison Wickham, owner of Siller Pollinator Company, as she walks you through the first steps to becoming a beekeeper—from selecting the right equipment to understanding the vital role bees play in our ecosystem.
After class (weather permitting), join us for a guided farm tour where we’ll explore how we’ve established and maintain our hives here at Heirloom Springs, and share tips on supporting and protecting these busy pollinators.
And don’t worry—while you're learning, you’ll be treated to delicious snacks to keep you energized, plus a honey tasting straight from our very own hives.
